Jade Cargill is hoping to get another shot at Rhea Ripley and the WWE Women’s Championship — but she is under no illusions that a rematch is guaranteed. Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Cargill was asked whether she expects a rematch following her WrestleMania 42 title loss and her answer was measured and honest.
“I will hope so. I mean, a lot of people don’t get rematches these days. When I defeated Tiffany, I didn’t get my rematch. So I mean, I don’t know. It’s up to them I guess,” Cargill said. The reference to her Tiffany Stratton situation is pointed — Cargill won the Women’s Championship from Stratton but never received a rematch opportunity, suggesting she is aware that WWE‘s current creative approach does not necessarily honor the traditional automatic rematch clause dynamic. Cargill held the Women’s Championship for 169 days before losing it to Ripley at WrestleMania 42 Night Two in Las Vegas, with interference from Michin and B-Fab being countered by IYO SKY evening the odds for Ripley.
