Long before CM Punk settled down with AJ Lee, he was apparently the object of affection for one of his co-workers. In a recent YouTube video, former WWE Superstar Shelly Martinez opened up about her past feelings for the “Straight Edge Superstar,” revealing that she had a significant crush on him during their shared time in the company.
Shelly Martinez: “I Wanted To Hook Up With Him”
Martinez did not mince words when discussing her attraction to Punk. “I’m going to be real. Because of different reasons, I always had a crush on [CM] Punk, and I always wanted to hook up with him and be his girlfriend,” she admitted. However, looking back, Martinez believes it is for the best that nothing romantic ever transpired between them.
She explained that a potential relationship would have been complicated due to her history with one of Punk’s close friends. “I’m glad we never did or even hooked up because one of his really good friends is actually the person that I credit for being like my first love, your first real, true love. So that probably wouldn’t happen because they were friends.” While the romance never blossomed, the confession offers a candid look into the backstage dynamics of the mid-2000s WWE locker room.
