To enhance the visual presentation, many of the seats were fitted with LED lighting for special effects. However, this ambitious production choice appears to have backfired significantly.
LED Lighting Made Full Arena Look Empty On TV
Viewers watching at home noted that the arena looked noticeably empty during wide shots, despite the fact that the venue was actually full. According to sources speaking to PWInsider, the event moved 25,000 tickets, but the LED lights on the seats created a visual distortion on the broadcast that obscured the crowd. This gave the false impression of low attendance, a look the company is keen to avoid.
The issue was noted internally, with one source stating they do not expect WWE to use the LED lighting setup again when they return to the Kingdom. The consensus was that while the lights may have looked cool in person, they “did not come across as well on the broadcast.” With WWE expected to hold three events in Saudi Arabia in 2026, fans can expect a return to more traditional lighting setups to ensure the packed crowds are visible to the worldwide audience.
