The 2026 Royal Rumble left fans with more questions than answers when a masked attacker cost Bron Breakker the match. Breakker, the heavy favorite, was eliminated first after being assaulted by the mystery figure. While WWE did not reveal the assailant’s identity—drawing criticism for repeating a trope used recently at Survivor Series—a new report suggests the angle was designed to facilitate the return of Seth “Freakin” Rollins.
Rollins: “I’m Eyeballing WrestleMania”
According to Cory Hays of BodySlam+, WWE expects Rollins to be cleared before WrestleMania 42, which is why they ran the angle. Rollins himself addressed his status during an appearance on The Sal Licata Show, admitting that while his goal is to be in Las Vegas, it isn’t entirely in his hands.
“Ultimately, the decision is not up to me… I think anytime you’re in our profession, WrestleMania is the main goal, so yeah, I’m eyeballing WrestleMania,” Rollins said. He emphasized that he is hitting all his rehabilitation markers but is waiting for medical clearance. “I’d love to be involved in some capacity… The doctor’s gotta make that decision and let me know if I’m good enough to do that.”
