WWE Raw Results (1/12/26): AJ Styles vs. Gunther, Major Announcements

WWE Raw made its long-awaited return to Germany on Monday, broadcasting live from the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf. In front of an electric crowd of over 11,000 fans, the show featured a controversial main event finish, a major suspension, and high-stakes announcements for next week’s trip to Northern Ireland.

Gunther vs. AJ Styles Ends in Controversy The main event saw “The Ring General” Gunther face off against AJ Styles in a first-time-ever matchup on the red brand. Styles targeted Gunther’s leg throughout the contest, utilizing dragon screws and his signature Calf Crusher submission.

The match reached a chaotic conclusion when Styles locked in the Calf Crusher for a third time. Gunther appeared to tap out against Styles’ leg, leading Styles to release the hold in celebration. However, the referee, distracted by communicating with ring announcer Alicia Taylor, did not see the submission and waved off the victory.

As Styles argued his case, Gunther capitalized on the confusion. He delivered a blatant low blow while the official’s back was turned, followed immediately by a powerbomb to secure the pinfall victory at the 17:53 mark. Commentary speculated that the tap was a calculated ruse by Gunther to trick the veteran into releasing the hold.

Bron Breakker Suspended Indefinitely Tensions within The Vision faction boiled over during a tag team match between Bronson Reed & Austin Theory and the LWO (Penta & Dragon Lee). Bron Breakker interfered, causing a disqualification by spearing Dragon Lee and Penta.

When Raw General Manager Adam Pearce stepped in to stop further damage, Breakker aggressively shoved Pearce into the corner, screaming in his face. Following the altercation, Pearce suspended Breakker indefinitely.

Paul Heyman, representing The Vision, later warned Pearce that the suspension was a mistake, noting that technically, the General Manager had initiated the physical contact.

Punk vs. Balor Set for Belfast Next week’s Raw in Belfast will feature a massive World Heavyweight Championship match. Following an in-ring segment where CM Punk declared his intention to be a fighting champion, he was interrupted by Finn Bálor. The Judgment Day member challenged Punk to a match on “his turf” in Ireland.

Punk accepted the challenge but issued a warning to the local crowd.

“I’m sorry to the Ireland faithful for having to put their countryman to sleep next week,” Punk said.

Other Key Moments:

Tag Team Title Picture: Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez defeated the teams of Asuka & Kairi Sane and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria in a triple threat match. They will challenge Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY for the Women’s Tag Team Titles at Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24 in Montreal.

Je’Von Evans Debuts: Recent NXT call-up Je’Von Evans picked up his first official Raw victory against Bravo Americano, escaping a post-match beatdown by fleeing through the crowd.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship: It was confirmed that Becky Lynch will defend her title against Maxxine Dupri next week in Belfast.

Vaquer vs. Rodriguez: An injured Stephanie Vaquer, wearing a walking boot, was attacked again by Raquel Rodriguez, who slammed the Women’s World Title belt onto the champion’s injured leg.
