Michael Hayes Reveals How He Discovered Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch’s Relationship

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are now WWE’s premier power couple, but in early 2019, their relationship was a closely guarded secret. In the premiere episode of WWE: Unreal Season 2, legendary producer Michael Hayes revealed that he was completely in the dark about their romance until moments before one of the biggest matches of Lynch’s career.

A Backstage Surprise at WrestleMania 35

Although the couple began dating in January 2019, Hayes admitted he had “no idea” until WrestleMania 35 at MetLife Stadium. He recalled standing in the “Gorilla Position” (the staging area just behind the curtain) right before Lynch was set to make her entrance for the historic main event.

“I remember the first time I found out that Becky and Seth were an item… Becky was about to go on, and I was behind gorilla when all of a sudden I saw them making out. I think I even joked, like, ‘God, get a room.’”

The couple publicly acknowledged their relationship later that year and have since become a staple of WWE programming, most recently teaming up at WrestlePalooza against CM Punk and AJ Lee. While Rollins is currently sidelined with an injury, Lynch continues to dominate the division as the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
