The second season of WWE Unreal on Netflix has provided another candid look at the often chaotic nature of WWE booking. In one of the new episodes, Chelsea Green opens up about the abrupt end to her United States Championship reign in April 2025. After a successful five-month run that began in December 2024, Green lost the title to Zelina Vega—a decision she says was sprung on her at the last minute.
Green revealed that she arrived at the arena that day expecting to continue her storyline, only to be told she was dropping the belt just hours before the show went live.
“It’s been the greatest five months of my career, honestly. But I get to work and something has changed. I found out a couple of hours before showtime that I was dropping the title to Zelina Vega. And I just felt like this wasn’t it. This wasn’t what I imagined. I thought we were going to have a longer run. I thought we were going to do more.”
Despite the disappointment of having her plans cut short, Green emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism in a scripted environment.
“You can react out of emotion and be angry. I refused to let that happen because this is not real life. So the conversation goes, ‘You’re losing the title,’ and I go, ‘Okay!’”
