Former AEW Champion Reportedly Signs With WWE — Royal Rumble Debut Possible?

Powerhouse Hobbs has reportedly signed with WWE following the expiration of his AEW contract. The former TNT Champion, who recently dropped the AEW World Trios Championships, opted against re-signing with Tony Khan’s promotion despite being well-liked and considered a “company guy.” Reports suggest his debut could happen as soon as next week during the Royal Rumble weekend in Saudi Arabia.

When it comes to his decision to jump ship, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the move centered around doing what was best for his family. It is suggested that WWE simply put forth a more lucrative offer, with a “better money deal” convincing Hobbs to leave The Opps faction and AEW behind for a fresh start on the biggest stage.
