Seth Rollins Names The “Overlooked” Superstar He Thinks Will Win The Royal Rumble

With the Royal Rumble just days away, predictions are flying in from fans and experts alike. During a recent appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, WWE superstar Seth Rollins was asked to weigh in on the upcoming event. While he likely won’t be competing himself due to a torn rotator cuff, “The Visionary” offered his picks for the “dark horses” in both the men’s and women’s matches, selecting a mix of legendary status and personal bias.

Seth Rollins Backs Rey Mysterio And Becky Lynch For Victory

For the men’s match, Rollins selected a superstar who knows exactly what it takes to outlast 29 other competitors. “For me, on the men’s side, Rey Mysterio, he’s a legend. He’s won a Royal Rumble before shockingly enough as a guy as small as he is,” Rollins explained. Mysterio previously won the match in 2006 in a record-breaking performance, and despite his veteran status, Rollins believes the Master of the 619 still has enough gas in the tank to pull off another miracle in Saudi Arabia.

On the women’s side, Rollins didn’t have to look far for his pick. He named the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion—and his wife—Becky Lynch as the standout favorite who isn’t getting enough attention. “On the women’s side, there’s somebody I feel like everybody’s overlooking and that is my wife, the one and only, the man, Big Time Becks, Becky Lynch,” he said.

It is no surprise to see Rollins supporting “The Man,” as he has never been shy about praising her accolades in the media. Lynch, who has won the Rumble before, is entering the match with significant momentum as a sitting champion. While many eyes are on returning stars or new contenders, Rollins believes that overlooking Lynch is a mistake that the rest of the roster will regret when the dust settles in Riyadh on January 31.
