A controversial scene in the second season of WWE Unreal has drawn the ire of wrestling veteran Stevie Richards. The Netflix docuseries captured a creative meeting involving Triple H and the writing team as they discussed the booking of the Women’s United States Championship. during the segment, the group debated whether Zelina Vega should drop the title back to Chelsea Green. However, the idea was shot down with logic that has left many, including Richards, baffled.
In the footage, Triple H and the writers argued that passing the title back to Green would trap her in a cycle of battling the “same girls” in the mid-card. More damningly, Triple H explicitly stated that Green would not be credible beating women “a level above,” specifically naming Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. The implication was clear: in the eyes of management, Green had hit a hard ceiling.
On The Stevie Richards Show, the veteran did not hold back his criticism of this mindset. He found it absurd that WWE officials believe Green, a statuesque athlete, couldn’t realistically defeat the much smaller Bliss. “This girl that’s almost 6′ tall who’s basically like a fitness model type girl, cannot beat a 411, 90 lb girl,” Richards noted sarcastically. He slammed the creative team for deciding that Green would “only make lateral moves” rather than elevating her.
Richards concluded his rant with a harsh assessment of the current leadership. “What have I said before? The biggest marks are in the office. And from what I saw, the biggest marks are in this writers room. That includes Triple H.” The comments highlight a growing disconnect between how veterans view talent potential versus the rigid tiers established by modern WWE creative.
