“I Kept Hearing No”: Brie Bella Reveals Truth About Her WWE Return Until One Phone Call

The Bella Twins are back in WWE, but their return was almost a non-starter. During a recent media appearance on Notsam Wrestling Live!, Brie and Nikki Bella revealed the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that led to their reunion. According to Brie, she had been pushing for a comeback for quite some time but was repeatedly shut down by various officials. It wasn’t until a phone call from the very top of the corporate ladder that things changed.

Nick Khan Reached Out To Brie Bella After Thanksgiving

“I’ve been wanting to come back. I would joke about it a lot but yeah, I kept hearing no,” Brie explained. By Thanksgiving 2025, she had essentially given up on the idea and begun exploring other opportunities for 2026. “I started to engage in those and then Nick Khan all of a sudden called me and I wasn’t expecting it and just really wanted me back.”

The call from the WWE President was a shock to the system. “I was very shocked… I’m grateful to Nick for bringing me back because I definitely thought the door was closed, and I’m happy that it re-opened,” Brie admitted. Nikki Bella echoed the sentiment, recalling her own conversation with Khan. “I remember when I got my call from Nick. It’s so unexpected and then you’re like, woah, that’s life-changing.” Now firmly back in the fold, the sisters have made their goal clear: they are coming for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship currently held by Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.
