The wrestling world is still buzzing about the electrifying conclusion to Monday Night Raw in Philadelphia, where Roman Reigns and CM Punk engaged in a verbal showdown that set the stage for WrestleMania 42. During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this Wednesday, the World Heavyweight Champion addressed the overwhelming praise for the segment, with some fans and critics calling it Reigns’ “best promo of all time.”
When asked about the acclaim the segment received, Punk offered a characteristically sharp response. “Imagine that, in the ring with CM Punk, bringing the best out of guys. Yeah, I’ve heard that before,” Punk quipped.
The segment culminated in Reigns officially choosing Punk as his opponent for WrestleMania 42, citing his genuine hatred for the “Best in the World.” Punk revealed that he wasn’t entirely sure the match would happen. “I wasn’t sure he was gonna pick me – I thought he might pick Drew [McIntyre] because I do legitimately believe Drew is the easier choice,” Punk admitted. “But where I’m at right now, I’ve got him exactly where I want him.”
Punk continued to poke the bear during the interview, suggesting that he successfully manipulated the former “Tribal Chief” into the match. “He picked me. I got under his skin, he’s emotional, and we all know, those emotional Samoans, they can’t control themselves.”
