Tony Khan Announces New ROH Home

The production strategy for the Ring of Honor brand has experienced a significant adjustment. The promotion is officially staying in Jacksonville, Florida, for its upcoming television tapings. The company executive recently shared the good news directly with the live audience.

During Sunday’s tapings at the WJCT Studios, Tony Khan came out from backstage to address the crowd. He proudly announced that Jacksonville was the new semi-permanent home of ROH. The promotion will be returning to the same building on March 22 for another set of television tapings.

The WJCT facility operates as the primary PBS affiliate in the Jacksonville area. The studio provides a highly professional environment for the wrestling broadcasts. The parent company, AEW, had previously listed the tapings last weekend online, where tickets to the show were offered entirely for free.

The promotional website encouraged local wrestling fans to attend the event.

“On Sunday March 1st, Ring of Honor storms into WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, FL for a special afternoon of HonorClub tapings and you can be there live, for FREE!,” the website statement read.

They promised an exciting afternoon of high-quality athletic competition.

“Fill out your registration form for up to four free tickets and have the stars of ROH bring you out of your seat with incredible action that only they can deliver!” the announcement ended.

Since Tony Khan’s official purchase of the historic promotion, ROH has mainly taped its matches prior to or immediately after AEW’s television shows. The content typically airs each Thursday on the dedicated HonorClub streaming service. Moving to a dedicated studio allows the brand to establish its own unique visual identity separate from Dynamite or Collision.

The studio setting often creates a much more intimate atmosphere for the viewing audience. It allows the hard-hitting action and technical wrestling to truly shine without the distractions of a massive arena. The roster will continue to film content to build toward their upcoming championship matches.

Bandido, the current ROH World Champion, is scheduled to wrestle Andrade el Idolo at the upcoming AEW Revolution pay-per-view on March 15. The champion has been out of action since February with a minor injury, but he is fully expected to be cleared in time for the major event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
