Some individuals in WWE reportedly aren’t happy with Jade Cargill after her recent social media storm. Over the last couple of days, WWE fans have seen Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill go back and forth on X. They exchanged a number of heated posts ahead of their highly expected WrestleMania 42 showdown.
However, the WWE Women’s Champion soon accused ‘The Eradicator’ of spending hours talking to the company’s creative team. After that specific post, many began questioning whether their dispute was based on genuine animosity rather than a pre-planned television build.
This felt especially true when the likes of Chelsea Green and Piper Niven backed up Ripley against Cargill. It seemed as if other locker room members were genuinely disgruntled with how the champion was handling herself online. Now, more information has officially come out regarding what some in the company have made of the exchange.
According to a new update from PWInsider, it is believed a number of internal sources are placing the blame on Cargill for the recent blow-up. It was also said that the Women’s Champion is no stranger to tension with many peers in the locker room.
“The back and forth between Jade Cargill and others was not something devised by WWE Creative with a number of sources placing the blame for the blow-up on Cargill,” the report stated.
The outlet noted that the champion has faced internal criticism for her overall attitude behind the scenes.
“One source noted that Cargill has been criticized by a number of talents for how she rubs others the wrong way and that when the back and forth with Rhea began, it wasn’t hard for others to want to jump in and voice their opinions,” the update continued.
The report also shed light on a previous absence that was originally attributed to a physical injury.
“They cited this wasn’t the first time Cargill has upset others with how she conducted herself and intimated that when there were reports about Cargill being hurt last year, the real reason she disappeared and spent time in the PC was to let personal issues going on at the time subside,” the source detailed.
While some tried to minimize the severity of the heat, it seems management may need to intervene before the situation worsens.
“Another source tried to downplay the situation, but later admitted that they expect management would step in and speak to Cargill about her relationship with the locker room,” the publication added.
The roster feels they have done their part to help build her as a top star on television. However, that professional courtesy has allegedly not been returned in kind.
“The source noted that everyone in the locker room has been happy to do whatever they need to do to get Cargill over but that the respect they show her does not often feel requited,” the report explained.
The insider concluded with a final observation about her backstage demeanor during normal interactions.
“They described it as Cargill coming off “insecure” when she shouldn’t have any reason to feel that way,” the update ended.
At present, there are around six weeks left until Ripley and the heel champion clash in Las Vegas. While it seems clear that their social media activity wasn’t planned in advance, it remains to be seen whether the creative team will opt to incorporate it into their on-screen build. The situation is certainly one to keep a close eye on as the promotion edges closer to the two-night stadium show.
Ripley recently addressed their ongoing rivalry on the March 2 episode of Monday Night Raw. During the television broadcast, the popular babyface prepared for her upcoming clash with Cargill and showed love to her current ally, IYO SKY. Ripley even boldly vowed to win the WWE Women’s Championship specifically for SKY when she travels to Nevada. The WWE fans will have to wait and see if this brewing real-life animosity translates into an even more physical confrontation on the grandest stage of them all.
