Backstage Details On Danhausen’s WWE Future

Danhausen’s WWE debut at the Elimination Chamber premium live event recently received very mixed reviews from the WWE fans. He was officially revealed as the newest talent when he emerged from a mysterious wooden crate. The box had been transported between Raw and SmackDown for a couple of weeks before both brand managers decided to open it together.

While his initial appearance at the Chicago event was considered underwhelming by some, his subsequent segments have fared much better. The audience quite enjoyed his backstage interaction on the following Raw episode with Adam Pearce. Members of The Judgment Day were also involved in the comedic television segment.

The interaction ended with the bizarre character placing a signature curse on Dominik Mysterio. Mysterio shockingly lost his Intercontinental Championship to Penta shortly afterward, leading many to believe the curse was actually effective. This has sparked intense curiosity regarding his long-term role within the promotion.

As revealed by Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, available at https://www.f4wonline.com, the signing received some opposition from a few higher-ups. Not everyone in the office was initially sold on the unique character’s appeal. Nevertheless, a separate report from Fightful Select noted that there was significant interest in bringing him to the Stamford promotion.

The 35-year-old was previously signed to All Elite Wrestling for several years. After not getting much television time in that company, he formally requested his release. However, officials extended his contract through the early months of 2026 by adding accumulated injury time from his 2023 medical hiatus.

As a result, his contract ended with the Jacksonville promotion on February 28, 2026. This happened to be the exact same day as the Elimination Chamber broadcast. It has also been officially revealed that the character will continue appearing in his original form without any need for repackaging.

Another former AEW superstar who joined the company in 2026 has experienced a very different transition. Powerhouse Hobbs was completely repackaged as Royce Keys when he made his first appearance at the Royal Rumble in January. Keys has yet to make his formal in-ring debut on either Raw or SmackDown television.

While Keys waits for his opportunity, the rest of the locker room is moving toward the biggest show of the year. WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will feature massive matchups including CM Punk versus Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley versus Jade Cargill as the road to Las Vegas intensifies.
