MJF Explains Why He Stays With AEW

The reigning world champion of All Elite Wrestling has officially addressed his long-term future in the industry. MJF has opened up in detail about why he never plans on leaving Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion. His comments provide a very clear look into his professional mindset and relationship with management.

Ahead of his Dynamite appearance in El Paso, Texas, MJF appeared for an interview with ABC-7 sports director Adrian Ochoa. During the media appearance, he shared his thoughts on current WWE ticket prices. He also discussed his specific reasons for staying with his current employer despite constant speculation.

When asked why he preferred to remain with the company despite having opportunities to join other organizations, he was very blunt. He pointed to the creative freedom he currently enjoys on a weekly basis as a primary factor.

“What keeps me in AEW is my ability to be myself; there’s no leash on me,” MJF responded confidently.

He enjoys the fact that he does not have to deal with a corporate environment that micromanages his promos or character work. This level of autonomy is highly valued by top-tier performers in the modern era.

“I don’t have to worry about anyone sitting me down and telling me what I am doing right or wrong,” he explained to the interviewer.

The champion believes his track record and current success speak for themselves. He credited the growth of the promotion to his own individual efforts as a marquee attraction for the audience.

“My boss knows I am the draw. I have the World title right now. Ratings are up, ticket sales are up. I wonder why?” he asked rhetorically.

He seems entirely satisfied with the current power dynamic within the organization. He concluded his thoughts by firmly stating his intention to remain exactly where he is for the foreseeable future.

“He lets me do my thing. So, I don’t think I’ll ever leave,” MJF finished.

The 29-year-old superstar has already achieved massive success during his tenure with the company. He is a two-time AEW World Champion as well as a one-time AEW International Champion. He has consistently been featured as the primary antagonist on television since the inaugural broadcast of Dynamite.

The world champion is currently scheduled to defend his title against Hangman Adam Page at AEW Revolution 2026. The major pay-per-view event will take place on March 15 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The rivalry between the two stars has become deeply personal, and fans are eager to see if Page can finally dethrone the arrogant champion in front of a capacity crowd in California.
