Sting Files For Multiple New Trademarks

The legendary performer known as Sting has officially filed for a brand new trademark. According to documents available on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website, the veteran made the filing this week. The move is designed to protect some of the most iconic elements of his long-standing persona.

Sting filed to trademark the phrase “IT’S STIIIIIIIING!” on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The filing specifically includes eight I’s in the middle of the word and an exclamation mark at the end. Tony Schiavone is also officially listed as an owner of the trademark relating to his signature vocal call.

The call has been a staple of television broadcasts for decades, dating back to their time together in WCW. Michael E. Dockins is currently listed as the attorney of record for the legal proceedings. This is part of a larger effort by the athlete to secure his intellectual property during his retirement years.

Real name Steve Borden, the veteran also filed to trademark the name “Old Man Sting” back in early 2025. This was specifically intended for wrestling purposes as he continues to make sporadic appearances. He remains one of the most respected figures in the entire professional wrestling industry today.

Sting also has several other trademarks listed for his iconic visual presentation. These include his signature face paint designs and his recognizable black-and-white scorpion image. He also holds the rights to the nickname “The Icon,” which has followed him throughout his career in various promotions.

The legend’s son, Steven Borden, has also officially begun his own wrestling career in recent months. He has wrestled several dark matches for All Elite Wrestling throughout the early part of 2026. He is looking to build on the legacy established by his father over the past forty years.

He also competed in a couple of matches for the DEFY promotion last year. Furthermore, he appeared at the ACW 52W Hardway event and art exhibit in New York this past October. The young athlete is taking his time to develop his own in-ring style away from the pressure of the national spotlight.

While the father and son duo focus on their future, the AEW roster is preparing for Revolution. The pay-per-view takes place on March 15 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The event will headline with MJF defending the World title against Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match, while FTR faces The Young Bucks in a clash for the tag team championships.
