Bayley Praises Women’s Tag Team Title Spotlight

The former champion is officially praising the current direction of the tag team ranks. Over the past few months, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria have made several attempts to capture the titles, though they have yet to secure the gold. Despite her own championship drought, Bayley is happy to see the titles being featured as a major part of weekly television.

The belts have recently changed hands several times, moving from The Judgment Day to the team of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. They were later captured by “RHIYO” before ultimately landing with the current champions, The Irresistible Forces. Bayley discussed this movement on Busted Open Radio, noting how the spotlight on the titles helps the entire roster.

“I’m a little biased, because the Women’s Tag Titles mean a lot to me. But I also just love that it brings so many women into the picture,” Bayley explained. “You mention Charlotte, when have we ever seen this version of Charlotte Flair? The same that Lyra does for me, Alexa brings out… she brings out a different, softer, more relatable side of Charlotte Flair, which she wouldn’t have had that without the tag team titles.”

She believes that the tag team division allows top-tier stars to remain prominent while creating space for other women to pursue singles success. By having established names involved in the tag ranks, it provides more television time for everyone on the roster to develop their characters.

“I love seeing the spotlight on the tag titles. It gives the opportunity for the other women, Jade, Stephanie, Jordynne, Chelsea and Giulia to work on those singles championships while the top names are still getting that time,” she noted. This depth has been a hallmark of the division as the roster prepares for a massive weekend in Nevada.

The current champions, Nia Jax and Lash Legend, are officially set to have a major celebration on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw. They are scheduled to find out their next challengers following a high-stakes gauntlet match involving the rest of the division. Bayley herself will be part of that contest, looking to secure a singles opportunity against AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 42.
