The ongoing partnership between the Stamford-based promotion and TNA Wrestling could soon lead to one of the most respected stars in the industry accomplishing a childhood dream. During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Bayley shared her long-standing admiration for the Knockouts division. She expressed a desire to eventually participate in the collaborative effort between the two organizations.
“That makes me happy,” Bayley stated regarding the company’s expanding horizons and diverse partnerships. “I would love to dip my toes in TNA and AAA and all these things. If we have the doors to do that, I would love to.”
The former champion revealed that wrestling in a TNA ring was a primary aspiration for her as a young fan. She grew up watching the “golden era” of the Knockouts division and was inspired by the level of competition they provided. She even shared that she had performed a tryout for the promotion early in her career, around 2010.
“TNA was one of my dreams as a kid. I loved the Knockouts division. They were like the hottest division for so long. Gail Kim’s one of my favorites,” she explained. “The Knockouts division has always been a dream.”
While the current partnership has largely been focused on the NXT brand, Bayley remains optimistic that the doors could open for main roster talent in the future. She is currently thriving in a mentor role backstage, passing along the lessons she learned from veterans like John Cena and Naomi to the next generation of stars.
Her focus remains on the upcoming March 9 episode of Monday Night Raw, where she is scheduled to participate in a high-stakes number one contender’s gauntlet match. She will battle a field of elite talent including IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, and Asuka for a chance to face AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. If she can secure the title, a potential cross-promotional defense against a top TNA star could be a major highlight of the spring season.
