Las Vegas fans who couldn’t land tickets to WrestleMania 42 will now be able to watch the event at local establishments after WWE lifted its watch party blackout in the city.
Stadium Swim at the Circa in downtown Las Vegas confirmed the reversal after advertising its own watch parties on social media. When a user flagged WWE’s previous blackout policy in the comments, the venue’s admin replied simply: “Not anymore. It has been lifted.”
According to a report from Fightful Select, the blackout had originally been put in place to help boost ticket sales — a practice that has historically been more common in traditional sports. Pressure from the Las Vegas hospitality industry and local officials ultimately played a role in WWE reconsidering.
“Over the last number of weeks, there were several casinos, hotels, and general tourist areas that had expressed frustration over the ban, as had a number of officials in the city,” the Fightful Select report states. One source speaking anonymously noted that when the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors committed to a site fee for WrestleMania, the intent was to generate economic impact across the entire city — not just for WWE and Allegiant Stadium.
WrestleMania 42 takes place over two nights — Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19 — with both shows beginning at 2:30 p.m. Watch parties will now be available throughout Las Vegas.
