Road Dogg Books More Appearances After WWE Departure

Just weeks after departing WWE’s creative team, Brian “Road Dogg” James is keeping busy on the road. The former SmackDown head writer has announced a pair of upcoming personal appearances as he steps away from behind-the-scenes work and returns to the public eye.

James will appear at Ohio Valley Wrestling’s Fan Appreciation Night this Thursday, March 19, at Hotpoint Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky. He will also be at Squared Circle Expo VI in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, at the Wyndham Indianapolis West.

Road Dogg Left WWE Creative on March 5 After Years of On-and-Off Backstage Work

James is a six-time WWF/WWE Tag Team Champion alongside Billy Gunn as the New Age Outlaws, and also captured two NWA World Tag Team Championships in TNA alongside Ron “R-Truth” Killings and Konnan. He had been working behind the scenes at WWE on and off since 2016 and spent most of 2025 as SmackDown’s head writer before leaving the company on March 5 of this year.
