WWE has officially confirmed that Nikki Bella sustained a legitimate injury during the March 27 SmackDown and is currently in rehabilitation with hopes of being cleared in time for WrestleMania 42. The announcement came during the April 3 episode of SmackDown, putting an official stamp on a situation that had been building concern since Nikki went down during a post-match brawl and did not return to the action.
The concern intensified days later when Nikki was spotted wearing a walking boot while recording a future episode of The Nikki and Brie Show — a visual that signaled the injury was significant enough to require medical support. Earlier reports from PWInsider indicated Nikki rolled her left ankle during an exchange with Charlotte Flair in the chaotic brawl segment.
Despite the confirmed injury, Nikki remains listed for the Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal Four-Way at WrestleMania 42, where the Bella Twins are set to challenge The Irresistible Forces alongside Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Her ability to compete on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas now depends entirely on how her rehabilitation progresses over the coming days. WWE has not indicated any plan to remove her from the match at this stage, but the window for recovery is tight with WrestleMania just two weeks away.
