Danhausen has his first WWE victory — and he earned it in the most Danhausen way imaginable. The Very Nice, Very Evil One competed in his first match on WWE TV on Friday’s SmackDown, defeating Kit Wilson in a bout that came together after Wilson and The Miz complained about how Danhausen’s curse had interfered with their match against R-Truth and Damian Priest the previous week.
The match saw Wilson control much of the action before heading up to the top rope — at which point a pyro malfunction flared and Wilson found himself crotched on the turnbuckle after being cursed. Danhausen promptly poked Miz in the eye on the apron, kicked Wilson in the face, and covered him for the pinfall victory. The Miz attempted to ambush Danhausen after the match, but the lights went out and Danhausen made his escape, leaving Miz alone in the ring looking foolish.
Danhausen’s SmackDown Win Comes on the Final Episode Before the WrestleMania 42 Go-Home Show
The victory adds a feel-good moment to SmackDown’s WrestleMania 42 build and gives Danhausen genuine momentum heading into the biggest week of the year. His ongoing involvement with IShowSpeed and the WrestleMania season has given the beloved character one of his most prominent mainstream WWE moments to date. Next week’s SmackDown — the go-home show for WrestleMania 42 — takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be immediately followed by the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony expected to air on Peacock.
