Charlotte Flair has made a confession that speaks to just how significantly her tag team partnership with Alexa Bliss has changed her as a performer — and as a person. Speaking to SportsCenter ahead of WrestleMania 42, Flair acknowledged a truth about her solo WrestleMania history that she would not have been comfortable saying before this chapter of her career.
“If you’d asked me probably the last eight WrestleManias, I would have said, yeah, I don’t like sharing the spotlight. But having this incredible year with her by my side and being able to bring out a different side of my character, which has allowed me to connect with the fans in a different way than I ever have before, is just testament to our friendship, testament to the bond, testament to my loyal fans,” Flair said.
Charlotte Flair Says Her Tag Team With Alexa Bliss Was Completely Organic and Not Something She Planned or Expected
The honesty of Flair’s admission carries significant weight given her identity as one of professional wrestling’s most formidable and self-sufficient solo performers. Fourteen world championship reigns, multiple WrestleMania main events, and a career built entirely around individual excellence — and yet she is describing a tag team partnership as connecting her with fans in a way none of those achievements previously managed. “If you had asked me last year if I’d had this on my bingo card, I’d definitely said no. Sometimes I think the best things are the ones that no one could have written or expected or planned, and it was so organic.” Flair and Bliss challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in the Fatal Four-Way at WrestleMania 42 Night One on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
