CM Punk Confronts a Fan at MGM Grand After Losing the World Title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42

CM Punk’s difficult WrestleMania 42 night extended well past the final bell. Hours after losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the Night Two main event at Allegiant Stadium, Punk was involved in a tense confrontation with a fan at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, captured on footage obtained by TMZ.

The situation began when a fan started filming Bayley while she was hugging someone in the lobby. Punk stepped in and knocked the fan’s phone down. Ace Steel was also present and attempted to keep the situation from escalating further as security rushed in to separate everyone involved. The fan, who was visibly upset initially, quickly backed down and apologized multiple times before leaving the area. The confrontation did not escalate into a full physical altercation, though the tension on camera was obvious.

Punk Was Already Visibly Worn Down Backstage After His WrestleMania 42 Loss Before the MGM Grand Incident

Punk had already been seen backstage at Allegiant Stadium looking visibly affected by the championship loss before the MGM Grand incident occurred. The combination of a grueling 30-plus minute main event, the championship loss, and the late-night confrontation added up to one of the more turbulent WrestleMania weekends of his second WWE run. No official statement from Punk, WWE, or the fan involved has been issued at the time of reporting.
