Paige Says Her Current WWE Run May Be Her Last and She Wants to Do the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber

Paige has been remarkably candid about the mindset she is bringing to her WWE return — and the admission that this chapter may well be her final run in professional wrestling gives every moment of it additional weight. Speaking on What’s Your Story with Stephanie McMahon, Paige described the specific goals she wants to accomplish and the emotional framework driving her approach.

“I came in this time with a mindset where I just want to be happy and have fun, because I don’t think I’m going to be wrestling after this run. I want to just enjoy my time that I have here, embrace absolutely everything, just enjoy the journey,” Paige said. She then laid out what she most wants to experience — the matches and stipulations that did not exist for the women’s division during her original run. “I do want to finally be able to be in the Royal Rumble that I got to not be a part of. I want to do the Elimination Chambers and all these stipulation matches that were not around.”

Paige Described Watching the First Women’s Royal Rumble From Gorilla Position While Already Retired as Bittersweet

The most emotionally resonant detail in Paige’s account was what it felt like to be present for the first Women’s Royal Rumble without being able to compete. “I had to be backstage in Gorilla when the Royal Rumble just started, and no one knew I was retired by that point. And I just sat there and I was just really sad. It was bittersweet. I was happy that the girls finally got this big match that we didn’t have before. But I was sad because I wasn’t a part of it, and I didn’t know if I was ever going to be a part of it again.” Having now won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 42 alongside Brie Bella in her first match back, Paige appears fully committed to making the most of the opportunity she once believed had been permanently taken from her.
