Carmella has fired off one of the more entertaining and intriguing social media posts of the week — teasing a potential return to professional wrestling after spotting what appeared to be a version of her Code of Silence submission being used by independent wrestler B3CCA on AEW Collision against Kris Statlander. The former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion was not amused by the move’s appearance and made her feelings known with characteristic sharpness.

“Hmmm… there’s a difference between homage and theft. I didn’t retire, I had two babies… might have to come back and show these b***hes how it’s really done,” Carmella wrote. The combination of disputing her retirement, calling out the use of her move, and dangling a return tease in a single post immediately generated significant buzz across wrestling social media.

Carmella Has Been Out of Action Since March 2023 and Her WWE Contract Status Has Not Been Publicly Confirmed

Carmella’s last match took place at Madison Square Garden in March 2023 — a Road to WrestleMania house show where she teamed with Damage CTRL and Piper Niven. There is currently no indication that any potential return would involve AEW despite her reaction to a Collision clip — but the post has firmly planted the idea of a Carmella comeback in the conversation heading into the post-WrestleMania season.
