Ric Flair Asks Critics to Let “Ric Flair Be Ric Flair” After Apologizing for His Controversial Ludwig Kaiser Comments

Ric Flair has released a follow-up statement asking fans and critics to move past his controversial comments about Ludwig Kaiser — remarks he made during an interview with Ariel Helwani that spread widely online and attracted significant negative attention. Flair had already issued an apology and retracted the statements before posting again asking for peace.

“I have apologized, and I have retracted statements. I have made assumptions that are incorrect. I acknowledge everything that I have said. Can we just wake up tomorrow and let Ric Flair be Ric Flair? I am 77 with a heart condition and nothing is ever guaranteed. Let’s just all be at peace. If you look at social media, people love to attack every celebrity online without using their real name,” Flair wrote. He continued, “I’m Ric Flair. Take me for who I am. The people who know me know how hard I’ve worked my entire life to achieve my level of success. That is not up for debate. Thank you for everything. Please let me wake up tomorrow and have my social media screen be only positives. I’m always going to be a cowboy! Wooooo!”

The original controversy stemmed from Flair’s interview with Helwani in which he revealed he had been banned from WrestleMania 42 after threatening to beat up Kaiser over comments made during a WWE television angle involving Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Flair called Kaiser a “little punk” and dismissed his career prospects before issuing his apology. Kaiser is currently portraying El Grande Americano II in AAA.
