Eddie Kingston has made his feelings about CM Punk crystal clear once again — and the message has not changed one bit since their infamous 2021 rivalry. Speaking at a recent panel for Squared Circle Expo, the Mad King reiterated that there is no burying the hatchet between himself and Punk, and that anyone putting them in the same building needs to plan accordingly.
“People ask me and they’re like, ‘Oh, what did you guys talk about?’ Listen, I didn’t say a word to him. We went in there and we fought. That’s it. Phil don’t like me, I don’t like Phil. That’s it and that’s the way it’s going to be. My thing is this, I’m not talking sh** about him, it’s just the way it is. We don’t like each other. If we’re in the same company together, we’re going to probably run into each other — you’ve got to put cops in front of us. That’s it. I don’t wish him bad, I don’t wish him good, just be over there,” Kingston said.
Eddie Kingston Recalls What He Whispered to CM Punk During Their Full Gear 2021 Match
Kingston also revisited his Full Gear 2021 match with Punk in vivid detail — a bout that has become one of the more talked-about encounters in recent AEW history. He recalled a specific moment when Punk began bleeding during the match and exactly what he whispered in Punk’s ear at that point — comments too graphic to reproduce in full but entirely consistent with the genuine animosity Kingston has always insisted exists between the two. The intensity of his recollection makes clear this is not a worked rivalry being maintained for business purposes — Kingston and Punk simply do not like each other.
