Thekla will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship in a four-way match at AEW Double or Nothing 2026. All Elite Wrestling made the announcement during the May 9 episode of AEW Fairway to Hell, setting up the Austrian wrestler’s biggest defense yet. Thekla will face Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter in the four-way bout — a stacked lineup that could push her reign to the brink at the company’s signature spring pay-per-view in Queens, New York.
Thekla has held the AEW Women’s World Championship since February 2026 and is currently 88 days into her reign. The Double or Nothing 2026 match will mark her sixth title defense, and arguably her most difficult to date. Each of her three challengers brings serious credentials: Hikaru Shida is a former AEW Women’s Champion, Kris Statlander has been a fixture in the AEW women’s division since the company’s earliest days, and Jamie Hayter is a former champion herself with a clear claim to a rematch.
AEW Double or Nothing 2026 is scheduled for May 24, 2026, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The full announced card so far:
With three title matches and a Stadium Stampede already announced, Double or Nothing 2026 is shaping up as one of AEW’s deepest cards of the year. More analysis is available at Alleitewrestling.com.
