Gunther has told Brock Lesnar he can challenge him after he is done with Cody Rhodes, saying in an interview with the Italian Wrestling Channel that his full focus is on Turin before he turns to any other business.
“I wasn’t even there on that day at Mania, because it was the day after me, when a lot of it happened with Brock, so I only saw it in a headline, and that’s literally all the info I had. Obviously, he’s back now, but I haven’t thought about it. I’m really focused on what I’m doing with Cody now. I will be challenging for the WWE Undisputed Championship in Italy, and that’s my full focus right now. After I beat Cody, then Brock can challenge me, and we’ll do that.”
Gunther and Lesnar have never faced each other in a singles match, despite both being among the most dominant forces in WWE history. Gunther has retired Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles over the past year, adopting the “Career Killer” label. He also addressed the possibility of receiving babyface reactions from the Italian crowd against Rhodes in Turin, noting that competing in Europe naturally shifts crowd dynamics.
Clash in Italy takes place May 31 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. Lesnar faces Oba Femi on the same card.
