Tony Khan has called Adam Copeland and Christian Cage’s AEW World Tag Team Championship win one of the most special moments he has been part of, telling the Toronto Sun the reunion of one of wrestling’s most legendary teams carries real historical weight.
“Copeland and Christian are red hot right now. It’s the first time they’ve held world tag team championships in many years and it’s the first time they’ve been the World Tag Team champions in AEW. To have one of the most legendary teams in the history of pro wrestling come together, that’s special.”
Copeland and Cage defeated FTR in an I Quit Street Fight at Double or Nothing. Their last tag championship together was the WWF World Tag Team title in 2000, over 25 years ago.
