WWE creative pitched having Santino Marella appear at Clash in Italy, according to 411Mania, though no appearance has been confirmed and it is unknown whether the pitch moved forward.
Marella himself already expressed interest, posting on X last week that an appearance would be “a full circle moment for sure.” Marella made his WWE televised debut at a Raw from Milan on April 16, 2007, when Vince McMahon selected him from the crowd as an impromptu challenger for Umaga’s Intercontinental Championship. He won the title that night with an assist from Bobby Lashley.
He spent 11 years on the WWE main roster, is a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a United States Champion and a former Tag Team Champion. He currently serves as TNA’s on-screen Director of Authority and has made multiple appearances on NXT TV through the ongoing WWE-TNA partnership, including an in-ring return at NXT in July 2025 to challenge Ethan Page for the North American Championship.
Clash in Italy takes place Sunday at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
