Gunther has explained why he pushed to bring back his Symphony No. 9 entrance music after three years on the WWE main roster using a different theme, saying he wanted to keep his identity distinct in a roster full of people using conventional entrance music.
Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Gunther explained his thinking.
“Yeah, actually, I wanted that again. When I joined the main roster, I had a new song, a new entrance music and I liked it, but it felt very much WWE, and I think my stronghold was always be different than everybody else and in that environment, I felt what I had before was a part of that — it made me stand out. Nobody’s really using a classical piece, and I had it for so long so, I developed a good feeling for it and that’s why I wanted it back. That was a simple reason for that.”
Gunther switched from Def Rebel’s “Prepare to Fight” back to Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor in November 2025 during The Last Time Is Now tournament. He used the Symphony throughout his dominant NXT UK Championship reign, which lasted 870 days. He challenges Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash in Italy on Sunday in Turin.
