Enzo Amore is expected back in WWE on the NXT brand soon, with Dave Meltzer reporting the current plan has him returning to NXT imminently, per Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The update follows a series of building signals: Amore was spotted at the WWE Performance Center ahead of the May 19 NXT broadcast, independent promoters have been told he is no longer taking future bookings he would normally accept, and WWE made contact with him during WrestleMania 42 week. The implication among promoters is that he is WWE-bound.
On Big Bill — formerly Big Cass — Meltzer noted there is nothing official or even heavily discussed within WWE regarding his potential return, though outside the company there is significant chatter. His AEW contract is believed to be expiring imminently. Meltzer compared the situation to Chris Jericho’s — where a television absence and an expiring deal create an assumption of departure that is not always accurate.
Amore was released by WWE in January 2018 following sexual assault allegations. An investigation was subsequently closed with no charges filed. He and Cass were one of NXT’s most popular tag teams during the mid-2010s.
