The tag team division on Monday Night Raw has a surprising new set of challengers. In a chaotic Fatal 4-Way match to determine the number one contenders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships, Alpha Academy—the beloved duo of Otis and Akira Tozawa—emerged victorious. They defeated The New Day, Rayo & Bravo Americano, and The Creed Brothers to secure their shot at the current champions, The Usos.
The finish of the match was a whirlwind of action that saw the ringside area descend into madness. Jey Uso, who was observing the action, became involved when he delivered a superkick to Grayson Waller, adding to the pandemonium. Inside the ring, Otis showcased his raw power by slamming Julius Creed directly onto his own brother, Brutus Creed. Seizing the moment, Otis tagged in Tozawa, who ascended to the top rope and delivered his signature high-impact senton onto Julius for the pinfall victory.
This victory marks a significant milestone for the duo. Otis and Tozawa first began teaming in November 2023 as part of the Alpha Academy faction alongside Chad Gable and Maxxine Dupri. While they have been frequent partners throughout 2024 and 2025, primarily on Raw and Main Event, they have never held gold together. In fact, despite winning five of their last six matches heading into Monday night, they had fallen short in three previous matches or tournaments where title shots were at stake. Now, the fan-favorite underdogs have finally punched their ticket to the big dance. While no official date has been set for their championship clash against The Usos, the momentum is undeniably on their side.
