In a recent conversation with Logan Paul, WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella opened up on her belief that kayfabe is officially dead—and why she is perfectly fine with that.
Appearing with her twin sister Nikki on the ImPaulsive podcast, the sisters were asked for their opinion on the industry’s shift toward transparency. Brie cited WWE: Unreal on Netflix—which released its second season in January—as the prime example.
“I do (think kayfabe is dead). You watch Unreal. We see how like matches are getting put together, and you see, like, all the way into the business,” Bella explained.
When Paul questioned if she was a fan of that exposure, Brie was blunt. “No. I mean, I don’t care,” she replied. She acknowledged that while some traditionalists hate it, she personally finds the creative process fascinating. “I get interested to see like what’s said in those rooms and how it goes down.”
Nikki Bella echoed her sister’s sentiment, suggesting the business needs to adapt. “For me, it’s cool to see how it all works. Yeah, we have to evolutionize.”
