“She Had Four Opportunities”: Liv Morgan Defends Actions Against Teammate At Royal Rumble

The 2026 Royal Rumble ended with Liv Morgan pointing at the WrestleMania 42 sign, but the path to that victory came with a significant casualty: her own Judgment Day teammate, Raquel Rodriguez. In a moment that shocked the fans in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Morgan eliminated the powerhouse to clear her own path to victory. While the two have been inseparable on-screen for months, many have speculated that this betrayal could spell the end of their alliance. However, the new number one contender is shutting down those rumors immediately.

Speaking in a new interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, Morgan was asked directly if she feared any disdain or retaliation from Rodriguez following the elimination. Morgan remained confident that their bond transcends the competition for a title. She argued that Rodriguez has had her fair share of chances to claim gold recently, specifically referencing her feud with Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer.

“I don’t really think in that manner. Raquel had multiple title shots against Stephanie. I think this was her fourth championship match. I don’t know what she’d really hold against me,” Morgan explained. “I’ve beaten it to death, she had an opportunity now I have an opportunity. She had four opportunities. I’m not worried about Raquel turning on me.”

Morgan’s logic is rooted in recent history. Rodriguez has indeed been in the title picture on Monday Night Raw, suffering defeats to Vaquer in various stipulations, including a Philadelphia Street Fight. In Morgan’s eyes, the Royal Rumble was simply her turn to step into the spotlight after supporting her friend’s failed bids for the championship. She emphasized that the shared personal struggles they have endured together hold more weight than a single wrestling match.

“We’ve been through so much together with her illness and my shoulder surgery. We are so much stronger than fighting over a title opportunity,” Morgan said, referencing Rodriguez’s real-life battle with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and her own recovery from a shoulder injury that sidelined her in the past. “I understand it can be a nuanced situation but I believe that my friendship with her is stronger and will outlast any kind of apprehension that she may feel towards me for eliminating her.”

With the Royal Rumble now in the rearview mirror, all eyes turn to the blue brand. Liv Morgan is set to appear on the February 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, where she is expected to address her WrestleMania decision. Whether Raquel Rodriguez will be by her side—or plotting her revenge—remains the biggest question mark hanging over The Judgment Day.
