Tommaso Ciampa Says AEW Is His “Final Stop” After Winning TNT Championship

Tommaso Ciampa has arrived in AEW, and he is making it abundantly clear that this is not a short-term excursion. Just eight days ago, the “Psycho Killer” shocked the wrestling world by debuting on Dynamite and confronting Mark Briscoe. He wasted no time making an impact, defeating Briscoe only days later to capture the TNT Championship. In a new interview with Uncrowned/Yahoo Sports, Ciampa opened up about his decision to jump ship and his long-term intentions for the remainder of his career.

Ciampa: “I Ain’t Here For A Cup Of Coffee”

Addressing his status with the promotion, Ciampa dispelled any notion that he is looking for a quick payday or a brief run. “I want to be a part of that movement, and I’m willing to work my way through that,” Ciampa said. He revealed details of his initial conversations with management in late January, emphasizing his commitment. “I told them the first time we had a discussion… I ain’t here for a cup of coffee and I ain’t going anywhere. This is it, man. Final stop.”

Perhaps most surprisingly, the 40-year-old veteran put a specific timeline on his tenure, suggesting he has a decade of competition left in him. “We’ve got 10 years. Let’s see what we get out of it.” This statement signals a massive commitment from both sides, positioning Ciampa as a cornerstone of the AEW roster for the foreseeable future. With the TNT Championship already around his waist and a decade-long runway ahead of him, the “Psycho Killer” era in AEW has only just begun.
