“I Am Still Gorg”: Chelsea Green Issues Statement Following SmackDown Appearance

Despite a confirmed broken ankle, Chelsea Green refused to stay away from WWE television this week. The “Hot Mess” made a surprise appearance on the February 13 episode of SmackDown, interrupting a backstage segment to air her grievances. The segment initially featured Tiffany Stratton and TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace exchanging words, with Grace suggesting that if Stratton wins the Elimination Chamber, they could face off at WrestleMania.

Green Returns In A Wheelchair

The conversation was cut short when Green rolled into the frame, pushed in a wheelchair by her tag team partner, Alba Fyre. Sporting a walking boot on her injured leg, Green wasted no time in blaming Stratton for her current condition. She accused the “Center of the Universe” of stealing her spot in the Elimination Chamber and causing the injury that has sidelined her during the busiest time of the year. Stratton, remaining true to character, simply giggled at Green’s misfortune and walked away, refusing to apologize.

Following the show, Green took to Twitter to address her dedicated fanbase and explain why she made the trip to Dallas despite her condition. Sharing a photo of herself in the wheelchair alongside Fyre, she wrote: “HAD to fly to #Smackdown to make sure everyone at @WWE is aware that I am still gorg even with a boot on.”

Context: A Costly Injury

Green’s injury occurred during the February 6 episode of SmackDown in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Lash Legend and the eventual winner, Tiffany Stratton. The consequences of the injury were immediate and severe. The very next night, Green was forced to pull out of a scheduled defense of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship on AAA on Fox. She was replaced by La Hiedra, who teamed with Ethan Page in a losing effort against Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana, ending Green’s title reign while she watched helplessly via FaceTime.

While initial reports suggested the injury might be a sprain, Green later confirmed via social media that she had indeed suffered a broken ankle. Despite the setback, her appearance on Friday night proves that she intends to remain a thorn in the side of the locker room, regardless of whether she can compete in the ring.
