The Visionary, Seth Rollins, has been very vocal about his deep animosity with The Second City Saint, CM Punk. This hostility has been evident both on and off camera since Punk returned to the promotion. Meanwhile, AJ Lee and Becky Lynch have been involved in a bitter storyline since the former Divas Champion’s WWE comeback last year.
While Rollins is currently out of action due to a severe shoulder injury, his wife is preparing for a major title defense. Lynch is scheduled to defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lee this Saturday at the Elimination Chamber premium live event. The stakes have never been higher for the two prominent female athletes.
In a recent interview with ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike program, AJ Lee and her husband discussed their true feelings toward Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. The former Divas Champion stated that she genuinely loves, admires, and respects Lynch as a performer. However, she still wants to physically dominate her in the squared circle.
“I love me some Becky, I feel like it is admiration, we’re very, very similar. I know I’m the best of my generation, I know she’s the best of her’s, so it’s a morbid fascination of can I beat the best?” Lee asked. She is determined to prove her worth to the WWE fans.
“Can I show that I can still go? So I love her and I respect her and I want to beat her pretty little face in,” she added. While Lee offered a level of professional respect, her husband was far less forgiving in his assessment of their rivals.
Punk admitted to hating Lynch much more than his wife does. He also disclosed that he was completely tired of hearing The Visionary talk in the media. “I definitely hate Becky more than AJ does, and I can do without Seth. Everyday I’ve gotta talk about this guy because people ask,” Punk stated.
“I don’t wish injury on anybody. He’s out with a pretty devastating shoulder injury and the only thing I can say is I wish he broke his jaw instead so I didn’t have to hear him talk,” Punk aggressively remarked. He then brought up the complaints he hears from his hometown friends.
“I get more calls and texts from people in Chicago that are Bears fans that are like ‘please bring this guy back to work, we’re sick of hearing him talk about Football. Get him off my TV screen,’” he ended. The harsh words will undoubtedly add more fuel to the ongoing fire.
The intense rivalry will take center stage at the United Center in Chicago on February 28, 2026. Along with Lee challenging Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Punk will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor. The event serves as the final major stop before WrestleMania 42 takes over Las Vegas in April.
