AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion Harley Cameron has deactivated her Twitter account following a surge of online criticism tied to this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
During the show, Cameron and Willow Nightingale defended their titles against Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne. Midway through the match, Ford launched herself from the ring with a moonsault to the floor. Cameron and Nightingale were slightly out of position, and Ford landed awkwardly on her leg, suffering a legitimate ankle sprain. An audible was called, and Lena Kross interfered to cause a disqualification finish, allowing the champions to retain.
Following the broadcast, Cameron faced intense backlash on social media, with a vocal group of fans blaming her for the injury and calling for the champions to be stripped of their titles. Cameron subsequently deactivated her account. Many fans have since stepped up to defend her, pointing out the inherent risks and collaborative difficulty of catching high-risk aerial maneuvers. Cameron has not publicly addressed the incident or her social media exit.
