Former WWE Star Signs With AEW

The professional wrestling free agent market continues to see significant movement between major promotions. The former Ashante “Thee” Adonis is officially under an AEW contract and has been for several months. This information was recently confirmed by a leading industry news outlet.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, available at https://www.fightfulselect.com, the talented competitor has actually been signed for six months. Tehuti Miles finally debuted during Sunday’s Ring of Honor television tapings in Jacksonville, Florida. The outlet noted that he officially signed his new deal during the first week of September.

Miles had not wrestled anywhere since suffering a loss to Ricky Saints last June on the WWE NXT brand. His previous developmental contract formally ran out on August 10. He subsequently signed with his new home just a month later to secure his financial future.

It remains entirely unclear what took so long for him to make his promotional debut. It is also unknown why he did not work any independent wrestling dates during his downtime. Regardless of the delay, he is now ready to showcase his abilities on the ROH platform.

The 36-year-old athlete originally signed with WWE back in 2019 and debuted in the NXT developmental system. He worked frequently on the 205 Live show, where he honed his in-ring skills. He eventually found major success when he became a core part of the Hit Row faction.

The group also featured Swerve Strickland, AJ Francis, and B-Fab. B-Fab is currently the only remaining member of the original stable left within the Stamford-based promotion. The faction was incredibly popular with the WWE fans during their initial run.

He, Francis, and B-Fab were eventually called up to the main roster in August 2022. However, they ended up returning to the NXT brand in the summer of 2024 to reinvent themselves. He never managed to hold either WWE or NXT championship gold during his tenure.

He will now look to change his fortunes under the All Elite Wrestling umbrella. The Ring of Honor brand provides an excellent platform for him to establish a fresh character. The promotion is currently building toward its next major event of the year.

The roster is preparing for the annual Supercard of Honor pay-per-view event. The broadcast traditionally takes place in the spring and features the absolute best talent the brand has to offer. Miles will undoubtedly look to secure a spot on that prestigious card to prove his value to Tony Khan.
