Intercontinental Champion Penta has announced he will hold an open challenge on Monday’s WWE Raw, adding a sixth advertised segment to what is already a loaded card scheduled for Madison Square Garden in New York.
Penta revealed the open challenge on his Instagram Stories on Saturday. The announcement gives him a chance to make a fourth consecutive successful title defense since winning the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio on the March 2 edition of Raw. He has since retained the title over El Grande Americano and Dragon Lee before defeating Mysterio again in a rematch. No opponent for the open challenge has been announced at this time.
Monday’s Raw at Madison Square Garden already featured five advertised segments before Penta’s announcement. The Usos put the World Tag Team Championships on the line against Austin Theory and Logan Paul in a street fight, while Lash Legend and Nia Jax defend the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. IYO SKY faces Raquel Rodriguez in a singles match, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to appear ahead of his WrestleMania 42 showdown with Oba Femi, and CM Punk and Roman Reigns will be under the same roof as the tension heading into their World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 42 continues to escalate.
Raw airs Monday at 8 p.m. EST on Netflix. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
