Bianca Belair Says Her Finger Injury That Won’t Heal Prompted Her Decision to Start a Family

Bianca Belair has opened up about the personal journey that led to her pregnancy announcement at WrestleMania 42, revealing that a finger injury far more serious than originally communicated played a central role in the decision to start a family with husband Montez Ford. In a vlog shared on social media, Belair gave the most detailed account yet of where her head has been during a lengthy absence from the ring.

“So as everybody knows, at WrestleMania, I broke my finger. I broke my knuckle, and I have joint damage, and I lost a portion of my joint, which can’t be fixed. I originally thought it was gonna be a pretty straightforward recovery. They said 8 to 12 weeks, but it just started not really healing correctly. It still won’t bend to this day — and I can’t get in the ring,” Belair said.

The injury — sustained at WrestleMania 41 — proved far more significant than the initial timeline suggested. With no clear return date in sight and the reality of an irreparable joint loss setting in, Belair reached a turning point at the four-month mark that had nothing to do with wrestling.

“It kind of just got to the point where I hit four months, and I have always wanted to have a baby. I’m not getting any younger, and honestly, this is what I want to do. I feel like for so long I was kind of putting what I wanted to do and myself on the back burner. Me and my husband, we had a talk, and I kind of just told him, ‘I’m ready just to do something for me, and I’ve sacrificed enough, and I’m ready to have a baby,'” Belair said.

Bianca Belair Revealed Her Pregnancy at WrestleMania 42 with Montez Ford Confirming She Is Six Months Along

Belair revealed her pregnancy at WrestleMania 42 Night One in Las Vegas, appearing after John Cena announced the attendance figure to share the news with the crowd inside Allegiant Stadium. Montez Ford confirmed she is six months pregnant. A former multi-time WWE Women’s Champion, Royal Rumble winner, and one of the company’s most physically accomplished performers, Belair has been a cornerstone of the women’s division since making her debut in 2016.
