MJF has one week to decide whether he will accept Darby Allin’s offer of an AEW World Championship shot — and the stipulation attached to the match is one of the most personal possible. On Wednesday’s Dynamite, Allin told MJF he could have his rematch at Double or Nothing on May 24 in Queens, New York, but only if he put his hair on the line. A visibly rattled MJF left the arena to consider the ultimatum after offering his scarf, his Dynamite diamond ring, and $1 million before Allin rejected all three in favor of the one thing MJF holds most dear.
Allin defeated MJF to win the AEW World Championship on the post-Dynasty edition of Dynamite, ending MJF’s second reign. MJF has been chasing a rematch ever since, and while the hair stipulation adds significant personal stakes, the championship opportunity at the biggest show of the summer may prove too tempting to refuse. Allin already has two title defenses lined up — against PAC this Saturday and against Kazuchika Okada next Wednesday if Okada wins his match.
*Subject to MJF accepting the stipulation. AEW Double or Nothing takes place May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
