WWE King And Queen Of The Ring Tournaments Are Back

WWE will begin its King and Queen of the Ring tournaments next week, with the finals set for June 27 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, alongside WWE Night of Champions.

LA Knight announced the news on Monday’s Raw in Columbus, Ohio, staking his claim in the tournament during a promo before being joined in the ring by Jimmy Uso. The winner of each tournament earns a shot at a top title.

The King of the Ring tournament dates back to 1985 and became a pay-per-view staple from 1993 to 2002. It has helped launch some of WWE’s biggest runs, most notably Steve Austin’s 1996 victory, which produced the Austin 3:16 promo. Other past winners include Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Edge, Brock Lesnar, Booker T, Sheamus and Gunther.

The Queen of the Ring is a more recent addition. WWE introduced the women’s equivalent in 2021 as the Queen’s Crown tournament, with Zelina Vega winning the first edition before it was rebranded as Queen of the Ring. Past winners include Jade Cargill and Nia Jax.

No bracket or participants have been officially announced.
