Jade Cargill has called her loss to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42 the toughest moment of her career so far, and is pointing the finger partly at Michin and B-Fab for not doing their jobs when it mattered most.
Speaking on ESPN First Take, Cargill reflected on what went wrong and what has changed ahead of Sunday’s rematch at Clash in Italy.
“It is, it is. But you know, you learn from these moments and they make you tougher. I was playing with my food and I should have just struck when I was hot. So, we’ve learned from it, and this Sunday at Clash in Italy I’m taking that title back home with me.”
On Michin and B-Fab’s role at WrestleMania, Cargill was direct.
“She had IYO coming out, helping her out. My girls didn’t do their job: trying to assist me with the win as well. They learned their lesson, so this time that mistake will not be made. I had a good talking to them afterwards. I was like, ‘Listen, if you’re going to stand next to me, to stand next to me is a blessing. My presence is a blessing, so don’t just come up here and think that you’re just taking a cakewalk standing next to me. You need to work for my attention, you need to work to stand next to me.’ And they understood that.”
She explained the specific moment that cost her the match.
“I told them to go after her after I threw her out the ring at WrestleMania. They didn’t go when I told them to go. When I tell you to jump, you jump as high as I want you to go and they didn’t do that. So, we had a good talking. I’m not trying to chew them out on national TV on ESPN, but they know what to do from here on out. I didn’t fire anybody yet, but they’re gonna have to bring the heat this time.”
Cargill pinned Ripley in the six-woman tag at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23, giving her a pinfall over the champion with the title match days away. Clash in Italy takes place May 31 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
