WWE SmackDown will return to two hours starting July 3, per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with the final three-hour episode airing on Friday June 26.
The July 3 episode will be taped, filmed after a live Raw taping on June 29 at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, due to the Fourth of July holiday.
The format change is part of SmackDown’s USA Network deal, which stipulates the show runs three hours in the first half of each year and two hours from July onward — a pattern that began in 2025. SmackDown has been on USA Network since September 2024 as part of a five-year deal. The three-hour format has drawn mixed reactions from fans, though 2026’s three-hour episodes have been better received than 2025’s.
