A 12-man steel cage match has been added to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 28 in San Jose, with Team MJF facing Team Mark Briscoe in a match where a Briscoe victory earns him a future AEW World Championship shot.
The match was set on Wednesday’s Dynamite after MJF again refused to give Briscoe a title opportunity. Briscoe was attacked by Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson before members of The Conglomeration made the save. Briscoe then pitched the cage match to Tony Khan directly.
MJF recruited backup through Don Callis, with Kevin Knight committing to the team in exchange for a world title shot win or lose — a condition MJF agreed to, frustrating Andrade El Idolo who continues to press Callis about his own title opportunity.

Owen Hart men’s tournament final: Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland
